In a seamless transition, Mrs. Mansa Nettey, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Plc, concluded a successful three-year term as President of the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) in January 2024. Passing the baton, she officially handed over the reins to Mr. John Kofi Adomakoh, the esteemed Managing Director of GCB Bank Plc, who will lead the organization for the next three years.
Alongside this change in leadership, Mr. Hakeem Ouzzani, CEO of Societe Generale Ghana, and Mr. Henry Chinedu Onwuzurigbo, CEO of Zenith Bank Ghana Limited, assumed the roles of Vice President and Treasurer of the Association, respectively. Reflecting on her tenure, Mrs. Nettey remarked, “Despite the economic challenges faced by the industry, we have successfully navigated obstacles, ensuring the recovery and enhanced resilience of the banking sector.
I am pleased to hand over to Mr. Kofi Adomakoh, confident in his ability to continue making significant strides in the industry.” In response to his election, Mr. Adomakoh expressed gratitude to the outgoing President and the Governing Council for their tireless efforts during challenging times. He pledged to work collaboratively with his fellow executives and members of the new Governing Council to achieve the overarching objectives of the Association.
Mr. Adomakoh emphasized his commitment to collaborating with fellow Managing Directors to strengthen the resilience and safety of the banking sector. The incoming Governing Council of GAB comprises the Managing Directors of GCB Bank, Ecobank, Stanbic Bank, ABSA Bank Ghana, GTBank Ghana, SG Bank Ghana, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, Zenith Bank Ghana, Republic Bank Ghana, and the CEO of GAB. This assembly of industry leaders is poised to steer the Association towards continued growth and success.
